Back to the Island - Madeira

After unexpectedly finding out I was going to Travel back home to Funchal, I quickly started to gather all of my essentials and outfits for my trip. Even though I've arrived and have been here for a few days now I still want to share with you guys some of my Travel essentials that might help you if you're going travelling soon or possibly in the future.

I will also show you a few photos of the trip from the UK to Madeira as I like to share that process with you guys and possibly show you the best places to visit that I haven't already shared.

Here as you can see is my go to Make up bag  as you have seen in a previous post, its the perfect travel size to put all your beauty essentials in.

First on the list was my Travalo, its a genius way to take your favourite scent with you but without having to take the whole bottle. I got my Travalo from TKMaxx but I'm sure you can find this in any drugstore.

If you're like me you probably don't want to carry a whole load of make-up with you and sometimes narrowing it down to a distinct few is hard. Here is what I came up with:

  •  The L'Oreal - Le touche Magique concealer;
  • The L'Oreal True Match super-blendable foundation;
  • New Look Lipstick in Candy Pink;
  • Light Brow zings shaping kit by Benefit;
  • Rimmel translucent powder;
  • Bourjois Bronzing and highlighting powder;
  • Rimmel London Wonder'full Mascara with argan oil;

A Few things that I would like to add as I didn't show them in the photos are the L'Oreal Matte Lipstick in the shade 405; The NYC individual eyes 942 Smokey eye palette created for blue eyes and a compact mirror.

For me, having your nails done whilst on Holiday is a must. I always go prepared for any occasion, so I bring at least two shades of Varnish. My current favourites are the Ciate Nail Varnishes in the Shades: Can Can and Mine a Mocha.

My last essentials are always pretty straight forward. I always bring with me a Travel sized cream for the skin and some make up remover in a Travel sized container, it's the perfect amount for a 2-3 week trip.

The last essential can be optional depending on the place your travelling to...a pair of sunglasses! I bring them regardless of where I'm going because you never know when you'll be needing a pair.

When I think about the Island I always think about how beautiful it must be to have the privilege to take your first breaths of life surrounded by the purest sea, the bluest most calm yet playful sea you can ever imagine. The sea that hugs a gem that we call Madeira Island.

The sea is something that locals cherish and respect, the sea is a friend that sometimes needs its alone time but when its having a good day, its something that everyone enjoys.

You can go anywhere around the roads, tunnels and volcanic peaks on the Island but you will eventually encounter the sea once again.

Its always an amazing adventure when you arrive because you get to see the city of Funchal, even though its runway stands between the island and the sea the unique part is the way the plane lands. The pilot has to make a 90 degree turn in order to then land on the platform. Its when the plane finally reaches the concrete that I can finally begin to relax, that's because I know that the Holiday has officially begun.

The picture below is the demonstration of the 90 degree turn. Where I found a beautiful cruise ship saying goodbye and moving on with their journey to new destinations.

Having landed I was home bound and straight to the city I went. Arriving home is the best part because I get to see the view I've been missing.

A panoramic view of colours and life.

Stay tuned for some more interesting outings and mini adventures.
